Quinn was born & raised in Calgary but fell in love with the coast during a climbing trip out west. He was a Nordic skier as soon as he could walk and was dragged in a pulk through mountain trails prior to that. His passion for physiotherapy began with an odd injury sustained in grade school gym class that landed him in the hands of the rehabilitation team. Over a long recovery, he was coached through the ups and downs by a physiotherapist. Immediately he knew this was the career for him.
Quinn began his studies at the University of Calgary obtaining his BSc in Kinesiology with distinction before being accepted to the MScPT program at the University of Alberta. As he progressed through the program, Quinn developed a keen interest in low back pain & vestibular rehabilitation. He has since completed all 3 levels of the McGill Method for low back pain, his Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation levels, & his Shift Level 1 Concussion Rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Quinn is an avid outdoor enthusiast. Throughout the seasons he partakes in rock, alpine, and ice climbing alongside mountaineering, backcountry ski touring, mountain biking, and nordic skiing. His experience within these broad disciplines grants him an excellent perspective into injury prevention, management, and high-level performance. He strives to provide an individually tailored approach to each treatment. Quinn offers a thorough assessment and an evidence-based, active solution to return patients to doing the things they love. To consolidate his knowledge and make educational information accessible to patients, he has an Instagram account to summarize physiotherapy literature @alpine.physio

Steven grew up in Burnaby, BC, where at an early age he developed a love for physical activity. As a youth, he played various sports including baseball, tennis, swimming, track and cross country. He has recently gained an interest in squash and ultimate frisbee and hopes to complete his first triathlon next year. Wanting to pursue a career that combined his love of physical activity and his desire to help others led Steven to complete a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Western University. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (First Class with Distinction) at Simon Fraser University.
A keen student, Steven was involved in numerous opportunities to learn as much as he could in and out of the classroom. This included 5 years as an athletic trainer where he provided on-field injury management and taught rehabilitative exercises to athletes to help them return to play. Steven was a trainer for SFU’s NCAA Division II Football team, Field Lacrosse team and the Coquitlam Adanacs Jr. A Lacrosse team with whom he attended three national championships including their Minto Cup victory in 2016. In his final year at SFU, Steven completed a Co-op work experience as a kinesiologist in a physiotherapy clinic on the North Shore where he developed a strong background in prescribing exercises to individuals of varying abilities – from school children to elite athletes. It was this experience that confirmed Steven’s desires to become a physiotherapist.
As a physiotherapist, Steven draws from all his past experiences to provide you with a comprehensive, individualized rehabilitation program to assist you in returning to activity and achieving your goals. He listens attentively to get a clear background history of your injury and then performs a thorough whole body integrated assessment to get to the root cause of the problem. Afterwards, he will use hands-on treatments including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, and IMS/dry needling to help you move. Steven is very passionate about empowering all his patients by educating them on their injury and providing them with exercises and strategies to manage their pain and improve their function. In doing so, he hopes to not only help you recover from your injury but also prevent other injuries from happening in the future.
Steven has a love for all things physiotherapy and a relentless desire to learn. He has completed his Level 1 Manual Therapy from the National Orthopaedic Division, a Mobilization with Movement – Lower Quadrant course, and a functional dry needling course. He reads clinically-relevant research articles frequently to stay up to date with the most current trends in physiotherapy and continues to engage in mentorship opportunities. Steven plans to pursue additional training in concussion management and to complete the Manual Therapy levels from the National Orthopaedic Division.

BACKGROUND Dalen’s family is originally from Manitoba, but he lived his early years in Paraguay, South America. Returning to Canada for middle school, Dalen began his love for all sports, playing hockey, baseball, volleyball, basketball, and track & field. These experiences lead to the opportunity to attend Biola University in Southern California, and competing on the Track & Field / X-Country teams between 1990-1995. It was there that he was introduced to the field of Physical Therapy, first as a patient in the school’s athletic therapy clinic, and then as a volunteer in a community sports medicine clinic, as well as at Long Beach Memorial Children’s Hospital. After completing his Physiotherapy training in 2001 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Dalen moved to the beautiful West Coast, completing his final clinical internship there with the plan to remain afterwards. For the last 16 years, Dalen has been working on the North Shore, enjoying the many relationships built over these years, and supporting the wonderful active citizens of that community.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING Dalen graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, with a second-degree Bachelor of Health Sciences in Physical Therapy in 2001. He received a Bachelor of Sciences in Sports Physiology from Biola University in 1994. As a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Dalen has completed many courses of post-graduate training including; Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy intermediate exams and Level IV. A significant component of Dalen’s practice includes IMS dry needling, for which he received certification in 2009 from Gunn IMS, and which is currently provided by the UBC Faculty of Medicine. In 2013 he co-presented on the topic with Dr. DB Quirke to the BC College of Physicians Conference. As an avid golfer, Dalen has completed a number of certifications including; FitForeGolf in 2003, and then in 2013 attending two courses in Long Beach California and Seattle with the Titleist Performance Institute.
TREATMENT APPROACH Dalen’s treatment approach consists of a number of specific emphases. Over the years, his training has evolved by adding new tools and levels of understanding. The first key element is education, believing that improving a person’s own understanding will enable appropriate steps to recovery and better outcomes. In his nearly 20 years of experience, Dalen has observed that many of the conditions he’s seen are related to years of repeated postures and movement patterns. Utilizing a complete understanding of anatomy and the biomechanics of movement, he has sought to help with retraining these movement patterns and postures. Part of taking control of our own recovery includes, therapeutic exercises, given for the purpose of improving or reinforcing these corrected postures and movements. In addition to specific exercises, and as part of improving movements, Dalen has found IMS dry needling to be extremely effective in helping to reset the neuromuscular state of muscles. This method of assessment and treatment has particularly aided those with ongoing, chronic conditions, which have limited their work and recreational pursuits.
